How to export an IBKR Activity Statement XML

XML is the most reliable format for turning Interactive Brokers statements into structured portfolio analytics. It preserves trades, positions, cash, dividends, fees, FX rates, NAV and corporate actions.

Export steps

  1. Sign in to Interactive Brokers Client Portal.
  2. Open Performance & Reports, then Statements.
  3. Choose Activity Statement, select the account and date range.
  4. Set the format to XML, generate the statement and download it.
  5. Upload the XML file to IB Dashboard to build your analytics view.

Sections worth keeping

For complete analytics, keep Net Asset Value, Open Positions, Trades, Cash Transactions, Dividends, Withholding Tax, Statement of Funds, Change in NAV, Transaction Fees, Currency Conversion Rates, Corporate Actions and Options Exercises/Assignments/Expirations.

Why XML instead of PDF

PDF is readable, but it is not ideal for automation. XML exposes field names that make it easier to calculate cost basis, realized P&L, dividends, withholding tax, option activity and FX exposure.
